چکیده

The lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is stable in an R-parity conserving theory. In this article the steps needed to calculate the present day mass density of such a particle are detailed. It is shown that there can be a significant amount of LSP dark matter in the universe. Furthermore, relic abundance considerations put an upper bound on how large supersymmetry breaking masses can be without resorting to finetuning arguments.

Light W - ino dark matter in brane world cosmology Takeshi

Osamu Seto Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Sussex, Brighton BN1 9QJ, United Kingdom Abstract The thermal relic density of the W-ino-like neutralino dark matter in brane world cosmology is studied. The expansion law at a high energy regime in brane world cosmology is modified from the one in standard cosmology, and the resultant relic density can be enhanced if the fivedimensi...

Either neutralino dark matter or cuspy dark halos

We show that if the neutralino in the minimal supersymmetric standard model is the dark matter in our galaxy, there cannot be a dark matter cusp extending to the galactic center. Conversely, if a dark matter cusp extends to the galactic center, the neutralino cannot be the dark matter in our galaxy. We obtain these results considering the synchrotron emission from neutralino annihilations aroun...

Damping of inhomogeneities in neutralino dark matter

The lightest supersymmetric particle, most likely the neutralino, might account for a large fraction of dark matter in the Universe. We show that the primordial spectrum of density fluctuations in neutralino cold dark matter (CDM) has a sharp cutoff due to two damping mechanisms: collisional damping during the kinetic decoupling of the neutralinos at O(10 MeV) and free streaming after last scat...

Non-universal gaugino masses and implications on the dark matter and Higgs searches

Non-universal boundary conditions in grand unified theories can lead to non-universal gaugino masses at the unification scale. In R-parity preserving theories the lightest supersymmetric particle is a natural candidate for the dark matter. We have studied the composition of the lightest neutralino in non-universal gaugino mass cases from the SU(5), and implications on the dark matter. In the re...

Supersymmetric Dark Matter - How Light Can the LSP Be?

Using a very minimal set of theoretical assumptions we derive a lower limit on the LSP mass in the MSSM. We only require that the LSP be the lightest neutralino, that it be responsible for the observed relic density and that the MSSM spectrum respect the LEP2 limits. We explicitly do not require any further knowledge about the MSSM spectrum or the mechanism of supersymmetry breaking. Under thes...

Analysis of Stops With Small Stop-Neutralino Mass Difference at a LC

A compelling framework to explain dark matter and electroweak baryogenesis is supersymmetry with light scalar top quarks (stops) and a small mass difference between the stop and the lightest neutralino. In this work, the stop detection capability at the ILC for small mass differences between the stop and the neutralino is studied. The analysis is based on a fast and realistic detector simulatio...
